Did You KNow?
Did you know that the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda has been supporting longevity and nervous system health for over 5,000 years? This holistic approach offers powerful practices to help regulate stress, promote inner calm, and embrace aging as a natural and graceful process. By aligning your daily practices with your unique dosha—your Ayurvedic mind-body type—you can enhance resilience and vitality at every stage of life.
HOW AYURVEDA SUPPORTS YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM AND HELPS YOU THRIVE
Did you know? The three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—play a pivotal role in how you experience stress and aging. For example, Vata types often feel restless or scattered under stress, Pitta types may become impatient or irritable, and Kapha types might feel heavy or unmotivated. Understanding your dosha allows you to tailor self-care practices to your unique needs.
Did you know? Ayurveda emphasizes regulating the nervous system as a cornerstone of longevity. Practices like pranayama (breathwork) and Abhyanga (self-massage) activate the parasympathetic “rest and digest” response, reducing stress and calming the mind.
Did you know? Ayurvedic herbs like ashwagandha, brahmi, and tulsi are natural allies for stress management. These adaptogens work to balance stress hormones, support memory and focus, and cultivate emotional resilience.

Did you know? Daily routines—or dinacharya—are essential for staying grounded and calm. Simple rituals, like starting your day with warm herbal tea or ending it with a calming oil massage, can create balance and stability, especially for Vata types as they age.
Did you know? Ayurveda sees aging as a natural rise in Vata energy. By focusing on grounding, warming practices and routines, you can counterbalance the effects of aging and maintain vitality for years to come.

WEEKLY WELLNESS PRACTICE | AYURVEDIC BREATHWORK PRACTICE WITH NASYA OIL
This week’s #CellCare Ritual focuses on a simple breathwork practice enhanced by the ancient Ayurvedic ritual of using Nasya oil. In Ayurveda, the nose is considered the gateway to prana—the vital life force that nourishes the body and mind. By incorporating Nasya oil into your practice, you can soothe and cleanse the nasal passages, promote clear breathing, and bring calm and clarity to your mind. This is especially effective when you feel congested, foggy, or overwhelmed.
Spend 10 minutes with this practice to support clear breathing, mental focus, and nervous system balance.
LET’S BEGIN |
Step 1: Prepare with Nasya Oil
How to Practice: Tilt your head back gently and place 3–5 drops of Nasya oil into each nostril. Sniff gently and deeply, allowing the nourishing blend of sesame oil, brahmi, calamus, and eucalyptus to cleanse and lubricate the nasal passages.
Why it Works: Nasya oil soothes dryness, supports clear breathing, and promotes mental clarity. It creates the perfect foundation for a focused breathwork session by opening the nasal passages and enhancing prana flow.
Step 2: Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing)
How to Practice:
Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
Use your right thumb to close your right nostril. Inhale deeply through your left nostril.
Close your left nostril with your ring finger and exhale through your right nostril.
Inhale through the right nostril, then close it and exhale through the left.
Continue alternating for 5 minutes, keeping your breath slow and steady.
Why it Works: Nadi Shodhana balances the nervous system, calms the mind, and enhances mental clarity. Paired with Nasya oil, it supports smooth prana flow and nourishes mental focus and emotional balance
Step 3: Gentle Deep Breathing
How to Practice:
After completing Nadi Shodhana, relax your hands on your knees or lap.
Close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Visualize your breath as a wave, gently rising and falling. Focus on the sensations of clear, cool air entering your nostrils and warm air leaving.
Continue for 3–5 minutes.
Why it Works: Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and fostering a sense of calm. Nasya oil enhances this effect by keeping the nasal passages open and prana flowing freely.
This Ayurvedic breathwork ritual is simple, restorative, and deeply grounding. By incorporating Nasya oil, you amplify the benefits of clear breathing, mental clarity, and nervous system balance. Repeat this practice daily for a week and notice how it transforms your sense of focus and calm.
Enjoy the soothing effects of this ritual, and may it bring you balance, clarity, and vitality!
